Peat meets Sweet: Nosing and Tasting Single Malt Scotch with Chocolate
Friday, September 23
6-8 p.m.
Location: The Boothby Center for the Beverage Arts, 1161 Mission St., Suite 120
Tickets: $25 in advance; $35 at the door
Hosted by Highland Distillers’ Martin Daraz, a native Scotsman, this seminar will offer a unique and unconventional look at how chocolate plays a role in the smell and taste of Scotch. Combining the very best of malt and cocoa to indulgent effect, this purpose of this class is to transform our approach to nosing and tasting Scotch whisky with the addition of a wee bit of chocolate. In the class participants will taste a variety of single malts including Highland Park and The Macallan paired with confectionery from the United States, France and even Scotland itself! Guests will start with a cocktail and end with a mug of hot chocolate, both of which Daraz is equally fond of.
